Julia crawford
I create gardens that are practical and beautiful spaces for clients to enjoy, as well as providing habitats for wildlife to thrive.
I have been a designer for over twenty years, working first as an interior designer for a global architecture firm and then moving into garden design. I made the switch to garden design because of my love of plants, outdoor space and because I wanted to make a more direct and positive environmental impact. Having worked in both fields, I am able to use the skills learnt in the last twenty years to bring the indoors outdoors and vice versa. Whether you want to have a low maintenance garden with space for everyone to relax or you want to feel empowered to garden in your refreshed oasis, I am able to identify the challenges you are facing and offer solutions so that you can get the most from your room outdoors.
I work on gardens in my local area of south-west London, including Wimbledon, Morden and Sutton, or sometimes further afield and enjoy the challenges of different locations.
I have a passion for Modernist design and in the autumn of 2023 my book on Dutch garden designer Mien Ruys was published by Lund Humphries.
