Chelsea Build-up
Helping on a Show Garden
I’ve been lucky enough to be part of the build-up this year and have been helping out on Jonathan Snow’s garden for Trailfinders. The garden is inspired by the plants of Latin America, in particular Chile. Some of them don’t really want to be handled - they are either prickly or can produce rashes. The Monkey Puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana) is particularly unpleasant to plant around as it is VERY spiky, making tree hugging difficult. We’ve also had a bit of rain, but now the weather has turned and we have our fingers crossed for judging on Sunday.
