Chelsea 2019 Highlights
Design Inspiration from the Show
Having helped with the build-up, this week I visited the show to see the finished gardens. I particularly enjoyed the planting in Kate Gould’s garden for the Greenfingers charity, which had soft yellows and whites along with green used in the planting but also much of the hard landscaping. Andrew Duff’s woodland based garden was such a calm space, with clever use of stone cut into repeating lines and used to connect the space as a whole.
Several gardens had strong sustainability themes, including The Manchester Garden, which focused on the use of plants to overcome environmental challenges found in an urban setting. However, I think my favourite has to be Sarah Eberle’s Resilience Garden, promoting woodland and planting with climate change in mind.
