CHELSEA 2024

I’ve had a busy week planting at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for Dave Green’s ‘A Black Diasporic Journey’ with artwork by Zak Ove for the Saatchi Gallery. The concept of the garden is the journey of the African slave, from jungle, via a Caribbean plantation, to an English country garden. Zak’s sculptures of ‘The Invisible Man’ are placed throughout, in an impactful statement on enslaved people of colour.

Planting has been different to usual as we’ve had to work in ‘jungle’ plants, many of which are tender or houseplants. Nonetheless, it’s been a pleasure to work on and see how things have developed over the week.
