MIEN RUYS BOOK REVIEWED IN GARDENS ILLUSTRATED

Following the publication of Mien Ruys: The Mother of Modernist Gardens in November, I’m thrilled to be able to say that it’s been featured in the March issue of Gardens Illustrated. In the review, Annie Guilfoyle makes the case for Mien and the book, stating “A book that should be read by everyone - it is time for Mien Ruys to be better known by all.” This is exactly the sentiment I felt when I first read about Mien, that she deserved more acknowledgement and recognition outside of the Netherlands, a place where she was once a household name. I hope the book can at least contribute to a discovery or rediscovery by a new generation of gardeners, designers and garden-lovers.
